NO OPEN FIRES

Monte Vista City Council passed a NO open fire ban at the April 21 meeting.  This ban is in accordance with ordinance 886.  The fire ban means NO "open fire" defined as any outdoor fire, including but not limited to campfires, warming fires, bonfires, fireworks, charcoal bbq grills, or burning lawns, brush and/or ditches.

The fire ban goes into effect immediately and will be in effect for 30 days at which time City Council will review it on May 19th 2022 at 6 PM.

Citizens are reminded however to be careful with any type of fires as wind can quickly come up and change our surroundings throughout the spring and summer months.
