SURVEY FOR THE CITY OF MONTE VISTA CITIZENS

REGARDING MOSQUITO SPRAYING

September 7, 2022

The City of Monte Vista is releasing a survey to the town citizens regarding mosquito spraying.

The purpose of the survey is to understand the numbers of people that support/oppose City-wide

mosquito spraying. The survey consists of two questions and will take very little time to complete. The

survey will be available in English and Spanish.

The City will post a link for the survey on the City website and on the City Facebook. For those that do not have access to a computer or internet, paper copies will be available at City Hall and the Carnegie Library, and/or a computer can be used at the library.

The survey will be available September 7, 2022, and will be open until October 7, 2022. Once the

survey closes, the results will be tabulated. Public meetings will then be conducted to discuss the

results.

This survey is an information gathering exercise.  We are requesting one survey per family, you must reside within the city limits and pay the $3. 30 surcharge on your monthly water & sewer bill. Changes or modifications to the City’s mosquito spraying effort may or may not result from survey.

“City staff has met with some community leaders who have expressed their concerns about mosquito spray and the environment.”  City Manager Gigi Dennis

“We are encouraging each family to express their desire to keep or potentially stop the mosquito program.” City Manager Gigi Dennis
